Europe-Italy-Padua
DAY 1-2
Padua
Mon, Sep 02-3, 2019
After flying into Venice we made our way to Padua, locally known as Padova. This college town has a large oval park surrounded by water and sculptures. We toured Giotto's glorious frescoes in the Scrovegni Chapel and Europe's first great anatomy theater. We visited the large indoor/outdoor markets of Piazza delle Erbe and Piazza della Frutta and enjoyed a spritz and tramezzini with the group. We stayed at Hotel Fagiano, near St Anthony's Basilica. We had a group meal at Ristorante Il Corte del Leone. Mark and I arrived a day early, stayed at Hotel San Marco, which I preferred, and tried pizzas at Pago, Pago. I have separate galleries for the Scrovegni Chapel, University and the Eremitani Church. My corresponding blog post is here: https://www.suburbangirl.net/2019/11/suburban-girls-10-things-to-do-in-padua.html
