From Montefalco we took a short drive to St. Francis' hometown of Assisi, where we toured Santa Maria degli Angeli and the magnificent art-filled Basilica. (no Photos allowed) Afterward, we took a walk through town, and had a deli made lunch of local sandwiches and hiked up above the town.
